Abundant humboldt squid make for good sharkin'
Sharks in this part of the Pacific ocean depend largely on squid in their diets. The abundance of the large Humboldt squid, steady water temps and the clean water close to the coast have provided to be key conditions to some great winter shark fishing here in San Diego. We have had many days so far this year with more than 20 sharks released per day. We are catching mostly blues, up to 200lbs, with an occasional small mako here and there. There have been a few reports of some threshers being caught as well, but we haven't targeted them yet this year. Should be another great season so book your trip soon before we are all booked up!
