Dead whale brings sharks from miles!
Terry Deeny and his friends returned to fish with Capt. Dave for their third time. When they got on board I showed them pictures from the trip the day before, of the whale. I explained to them it was now in Mexican waters but we might be able to fish (chum) along the path it had drifted. The day started off with a nice blue shark, business as usual! The second shark that came in was acting very erratically, we couldn't get it to eat. This usually happens when there is a larger shark around we haven't seen yet. Then at 3:28 a massive shark appeared in the slick. It came right to the side of the boat, two feet in front me! All four of us saw that is was almost as big as my 23' boat, I am guessing between 18 and 20 feet long. The white shark swam by the boat once looked at the chum bucket, turned right in front of me at the stern of my boat and swam off. When the shark turned as it swam off, I realized it was as big around as my boat! What a sight! You never know what you will see out on the ocean!!
